Radford Rocks: in review

By Dan Poole, Director of Ensembles

Radford Rocks was a delight for our amazing Contemporary Ensembles students, their families, and the staff around the College.

We had eight talented groups performing over the jam-packed hour which demonstrated the vast variety of bands at Radford College. Among the rock bands covering Green Day, Billie Eilish, The Pixies, and many others, we had some very talented songwriters debuting their original songs. 'Small Town Syndrome' by the L.E.D.s and 'Another Emo Song' by A Tuesday Sentiment, were our standout original songs on the night, dazzling us with their clever lyrical twists, melodic vocal prowess, and their strong stage presence.

Mrs Godfrey, Dr Johnson and Rev. Katherine were among those blown away by the magnificent display of talent showcased throughout Radford Rocks. A massive commendation to all the students who performed. It can be a tough, nervous and anxiety-ridden experience in front of a crowd, but the reward of sharing the joy of music is always worth it.

Thank you to everyone who helped out on the day and throughout the evening.
